Hello there! Welcome to my blog. In this post, I will talk about the best plant-based milk for coffee in the market.
As an avid coffee drinker, I have tried a fair share of plant-based milks. Some are better for drinking by themselves, whilst others taste great when paired with coffee. There are also some very popular brands that I don’t recommend at all.
Plant Based milks are usually made of Soy, Almond, Coconut, and Oat. These are the most popular in the market. Depending on the country you are in, you may have a harder time finding more brands and different kinds of flavors.
If this is your first time on my blog, as the name says, I am a runner too. I love drinking coffee before my runs, it gives me an extra kick. Beware though, any caffeinated drink will give you a boost, however, you will crash harder after your run.
If you go out and buy many different types of plant-based milk, it will take you a long time to find the one you like most or the one that pairs better with your coffee. Also, this endeavor might cost you a lot of money. If you have the money and time to do so, by all means, go ahead, and when you find the one you like the most, don’t hesitate to leave a comment with your findings.
The best plant-based milk for coffee is Oat milk. Hands down, there is not even a slight comparison of the flavor this gives to your latte, flat white, or any coffee drink you pour it into.
I will give you a tip, if you put a tiny bit of Olive oil, you can get it to foam even more. This is only in the case that you don’t have a milk frother, steamer, manual foamer, or even a Nespresso Aeroccino.
I also would like to say that you can make your own Oat milk, it’s quite simple. It took some years for Oat milk to become popular in my home country, and even now there are some coffee shops that don’t use it. If this is the case for you, I recommend that you make it yourself. The only downside is that it takes a bit of time, and several repetitions to get to the perfect flavor and consistency.
A disclaimer, If you are into eating a Whole Foods Plant Based Diet, then making your own milk is going to be the best way of really knowing what exactly is in your drink. There are brands of soy milk that are way cleaner, with no added sugars or weird ingredients.
If you feel like doing a fresh batch of Oat Milk by yourself, check out this very simple but delicious recipe from Minimalist Baker. Go ahead and try it.

Tips for Frothers and Brands of Milks.
Me and my wife have a Nespresso Aeroccino and It works wonderfully for our coffees. I highly recommend getting this product. However, I am not a fan of the Nespresso coffee per se. I find that the flavor is a bit stale. I prefer to grind the coffee by myself. There is nothing better than the freshly ground smell of coffee in the mornings.
I have found after 4 years of trying many different plant-based milks for my flat whites and lattes, that my favorite Oat milk brand is “Oatly”, for several reasons, It is easier to find in the supermarkets and tastes great. I am not stating that this milk is really good for your health, only that is the one I prefer with my coffee. There is a Barista Edition which also tastes great!

Best Plant Based Milk For Coffee
Coffee is an important part of my life. I enjoy a cup of coffee during my mornings, while I am reading. Usually, this cup is only black coffee. However, the second cup of coffee for me will have Oat milk. I love Flat Whites because I like the taste of coffee to be stronger than the milk.
All of the milk mentioned above had been tested with my coffees, some of them in coffee places, others in my house. Also, I have also made the home recipe that I linked earlier. I just love the way Oat milk gives to my coffee.
Growing up, as a kid, I was an avid milk drinker. Never by itself, more so in Milk shakes and chocolate milk. I haven’t had dairy in more than 5 years. I don’t need it, plus it made my stomach hurt. Nowadays, whenever I have cravings for a bowl of cereal, a milkshake, a smoothie, or anything that might have milk. I go with Oat milk.
