Winter Running?

Do you run outside in the winter? In the dark? In the snow?

I’m going to again this year, last year was miserable and I’m looking for tips to make it more enjoyable, safe and something I can just get through.

This is what I know so far:

– Dress in layers

– Dress 10-15 degrees warmer than it is outside (because you will warm up)

– Wear something reflective i.e. a vest, hats, jackets, headlamp, blinking light, just something

– Stay inside if its icy

– Skip the run if it is a blizzard

So what did I miss?

Use YakTrax or some form of traction device... I ran safely on snow, ice and crud all through last winter in North Idaho.
