The holidays are fast approaching so I thought I’d update my holiday gift guide for runners! I’m pretty sure i’ve got something on the list for everyone from your race running co-worker to your significant other.
Winter Accessories – Baby its cold outside, at least for most of us the bitter cold, snow and sleet season is just around the corner. A nice tech beanie, ear covering headband or gloves makes a great gift. I like the Brooks Greenlight series, they are reflective, wicking and have hat and glove styles for men and women. Brooks also makes a pretty awesome Joyride Mitten.
Socks – Especially compression socks like Pro Compression, they are great for post run recovery and come in super awesome styles. The image shows some of my favorites.
A Foam Roller – They promote blood flow that aids with recovery and muscle repair. Trigger Point makes a few different ones but the GRID Foam Roller is my go to. The Mini Grid is great for runners who travel often.
I’m big on giving and receiving experiences as gifts. Here are 2 suggestions for the runner in your life:
Race Registration – Don’t actually register for a race for someone (maybe if they are your significant other this is ok? better yet turn it into a destination race mini vacation for you and your sweetie) Make a mock gift card or certificate that is good for one ‘Race Registration’ or for a specific race you know they want to run. Another idea is to run together and make the card good for 2.
Classes – Think Spinning, CrossFit, Group Fitness, Yoga, etc. Something different, new and exciting or to their favorite yoga or spinning studio.
If all else fails go with a Gift Card! – This is always a safe bet and much appreciated gift. I like to go with local running stores, iTunes (for music and apps) or Road Runner Sports every runner can always use and ALWAYS wants more gear.
* Side Note: None of the companies mentioned have anything to do with me (as in they did not in any way ask or compensate me to say any of this, I just LOVE their products) *
