Picky Bars – Giveaway

This ‘review’ has been a long time in the making. It has been hard to find the proper words to describe my experience with Picky Bars, lets see if I can do it justice. It is no secret that I love LOVE     L   O   V   E    Picky Bars, you know, the real ingredient, nasty chemical FREE and tasty bars for picky eaters with the sweet logo and packaging.

Why do I love Picky Bars? What is so excuse me – so great about them? Aren’t all bars the same?

First, the main reason and the reason that is linked to EVERYTHING else is that Picky Bars taste good. By good I mean real. No chemically, processed, yucky tasting protein bar of yester year. You can see the nuts, the chocolate chips and twigs and berries.

Yay! Picky Bars taste good what else could one ask for? Well, a lot. Many food items that simply taste good are not good at all. Tasty food can be laden with fat, calories, chemicals, preservatives and a slew of nasty things I cannot pronounce, explain or even want to imagine. Picky Bars taste good because they are made from real food and real food is awesome! (aka reason #2)

Picky Bars are athlete designed and fellow athletes (especially runners) experiment and know what works for most, if not all of us. They are gluten and dairy free, yay! I do not have a current doctor diagnosed allergy to gluten or dairy (yet) but if you are anything like me (ill assume some of you are) when running distances it can be difficult to  tolerate many of the sports nutrition foods. Picky Bars go easy on my stomach, are easy to carry and don’t turn into a sticky goop of a mess. If that isn’t enough of a reason to love them then refer back to reason #1 (they taste good) and reason #2 (they are made from real food not chemicals)

My mom found out she was allergic to nuts about 3 years ago, right before her 50th birthday. Today, I asked her which one she thought was a chocolate covered cherry in a holiday box of See's candy and she pulled one out and started to bring it to her mouth, so I smacked it out of her hand and screamed "some have nuts!" Turns out she just wanted to smell it. Jokes on me though, since it wasn't a chocolate covered cherry but some weird nutty nougatty thing.
