The first time I saw a Lebert Equalizer was while watching a BodyRock.TV training video, I knew after a few moments that I needed to get my hands on one. If you are not familiar with BodyRock you are missing out, seriously… check them out. Anyway, according to the Lebert Fitness website the Equalizer is a “simple, portable, yet multi-purpose and versatile piece of strength training equipment that works arms, chest, back and core muscles like no other can, using your own body weight as resistance.” When explaining the Equalizer to people I say that it’s these two light weight pink (or yellow) thingies that assist with and make some great exercises possible to do. It is a simple yet versatile tool for anyone looking to build and tone muscles.
With the Equalizer you can do knee ups, dips, rows, tricep extensions, two different style push ups, agility drills, various stretches, and more! I like that the Equalizer uses body weight as resistance and can be easily modified for beginners. When I assembled my Equalizer the first thing I tried to do was a vertical row, I could barely do two. After just a week of a training a few minutes daily I am up to eight. I am by no means an expert, strong, ripped or very fit yet I’ve been doing a little everyday and everyday I have been getting stronger. Push ups have always been hard for me, I can do three maybe four before I collapse on the ground so I usually do the ‘fake’ on my knees or on an exercise ball kind, with the Equalizer I have built up from three struggling Push ups to six yay! that burn feels good Push ups. Slowly with the help of the Equalizer, dedication and hard work I will be strong(er) and toned.
I have been using the Equalizer for about a week, so far my favorite exercises are Dips, Push ups, Vertical Row’s and Knee ups. Simple yet effective body strengthening moves that are vital to my cross training muscle-building workouts.
If I would have won powerball last week I would be buying all of my lovely readers Equalizers but I didn’t win, sorry. However I did speak with the awesome people over at Lebert Fitness and they have given me a discount code to share with my readers… yay!
