I’ve been sick for the past 4 weeks.
I’ve been forced to skip 4 long runs.
I’ve missed over 15 training runs.
I DNS my Fall Half.
I’m DNS-ing my Fall 10k.
I’m also glad that I’m feeling better and it was not anything serious.
Bouncing back is tough, your mind, my mind has advanced beyond what my body is capable of doing. Recovery from just about everything is a slow process, sometimes too slow. Frustrating, annoying, sad, disappointing and soul sucking, recovery takes time and of course when you need more time there just in not enough of it. They say time heals all wounds, life goes on, it gets better… they are correct.
I’m not looking for sympathy, I’m not defeated, I here to report that I am back, not 100% but I will get there, I will rock my runs, I will PR at a race and I will earn more bling! Everyone loves a comeback right?
